Author Visit Inspires 7th Grade Students

Last week, our 7th grade students had the incredible opportunity to meet Marjorie Caillot, author of "Survival of a Haitian Girl", during a virtual visit arranged by Mr. Deshommes!
Speaking with students via Google Meet, Ms. Caillot shared her powerful personal story—from her immigration journey from Haiti to the United States, to her experiences growing up as a Haitian girl and building a new life in America. Her message of courage, identity, and perseverance deeply moved our students. Students were able to ask thoughtful questions and engage in a meaningful conversation with Ms. Caillot about her life.
We’re so thankful for her generous donation of a copy of "Survival of a Haitian Girl" to the CHASE Middle School Library—it’s now available for all students to read and be inspired.
