Rutherford County Schools is excited to partner with Winston-Salem State University to bring GEAR UP back in the community. GEAR UP is designed to help middle school students to have a better chance for success entering high school. GEAR UP also allows students to explore new careers and goals for the future.
The GEAR UP Staff is getting started by hosting a Kick-Off Event at each of the three Middle Schools. Food will be provided for students and their families. Games and other activities will be present as well for students and families to learn more about the importance of GEAR UP and what events we will bring to help your children excel in-and-out of the classroom.
We need an estimated count of students and their families who would like to participate in this activity. Dates and times will be provided by your schools administration in the upcoming days. Thank you!
Las Escuelas del Condado de Rutherford están emocionadas de asocairase con la Universidad Winston-Salem State para traer el programa GEAR UP de regreso a la comunidad. GEAR UP es diseñado para ayudar a estudiantes de la escuela intermedia (middle school) a tener mejor éxito al entrar a la escuela superior (high school). GEAR UP también les permite a los estudiantes a explorar carreras nuevas y metas para el futuro.
El personal de GEAR UP está empezando a hospedar un Evento de Arranque en cada una de las tres escuelas intermedias. Se proporcionará comida para los estudiantes y sus familias. También tendremos juegos y otras actividades para que los estudiantes y las familias puedan aprender más sobre la importancia de GEAR UP y qué eventos traeremos para ayudar a sus niños a sobresalir dentro y fuera del salón de clases.
