Chase Middle - Can Food Drive
Our annual Can Food drive is in full swing. The Chase Middle School can food drive has been a tradition for close to 20 years. We are proud to do this community service project each and every year to help those in need. We are collecting can food and non- perishable food items (ramen noodles, Mac and cheese cups) until December 21st. The homeroom from each grade with the most cans collected will be rewarded with an Ice Cream party. The homeroom with the most cans collected in the entire school will be rewarded with a Pizza Party. We encourage you to turn in canned food items to your homeroom teacher or to the PE department each and every day. Thank you and Happy Holidays.”
Updated RCS Policy 3620 – Extracurricular Activities and Student Organization s
Please note if you have a child playing basketball or a spring sport they must now meet the middle school academic requirements for NC Middle Schools. (must be passing 3 out of 4 of their courses each SEMEMSTER (this will be the combined average of the first three grading periods this school year).
Our district recently updated the athletic section of this policy to align with our two other counties to ensure we all are following the same guidelines. The new revisions are now in the administrative regulations for policy 3620. (RCS Board Policy 3620). You should see these changes updated on the online policy link on our district website soon.
In section C, changes have been made to emphasize that our district will adhere to all middle school athletic eligibility requirements as indicated in the Middle/Junior High School Athletics in North Carolina Public Schools handbook. (see link for more details).
Energy Drinks
We continue to have issues with students bringing and sharing energy drinks. These are causing a disruption during class and lunch. Beginning Monday, November 29, 2021 students can no longer bring energy drinks to school. Thank you for your understanding and support. This is now reflected in our Student Handbook. Handbook Statement: Energy drinks are prohibited from this school. All food and drink containers must be clear and spillproof
