CMS Student and Parent News – Nov. 1st – 5th

CMS Student and Parent News – Nov. 1st – 5th

Parents,

Please note mid term reports were sent home with all students last Monday or Tuesday.  Please note we are back to regular promotion standards this school year.  Students must pass 3 out of 4 of their core classes and the end of grade test counts 20% of their final grade.  It is crucial that our students are completing classwork and homework daily.  Please check your child’s Canvas page for all subjects daily or several times each week to ensure they are staying up-to-date with their assignments and doing their best.  Don’t forget we also have free homework help after school every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to provide additional support.  Thank you for working together to help your child be successful!

Reminder to athletes and students participating in clubs or after-school activities.  These students must be passing 5 out of 6 of their classes each grading period to participate or try-out for sports or stay active in a club or other activity.

7th and 8th graders – Yearbook Exploratory Class -

We are searching for current seventh and eighth grade students who are interested in joining the 2021-2022 Chase Middle School Yearbook Staff. This will be an exploratory class that will take place in the Library Media Center.  Students who are selected will be responsible for the creation of the yearbook, which includes writing, photography, and graphic design. Staff members may be asked to stay after school to take photographs of activities such as sports, clubs, and other events. Students will be required to have an A-B average in their classes and will be asked to present a teacher recommendation.  Yearbook applications must be completed by November 3rd at 3 PM. Application link is on this announcement on Student Canvas Announcement Page.

HOMEWORK HELP

We now have free homework help for any student in all grade levels from 3:00-4:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  We highly encourage students who are returning from quarantine and those who failed one or more courses this grading period to attend for this assistance.  Parents will need to arrange transportation to pick up their child promptly at 4pm out front. Contact the school or your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

Chase Middle Spirtwear

All students were giving a handout in homeroom with information and the website to order Chase Middle School Spiritwear.  When you get to the website scroll down to see all Chase Middle logo designs and all available clothing choices.  We thank our Chase Middle Pirate Council PTO for coordinating our spirit wear sale.  https://www.chasemiddlespiritwear.com/
