CMS Student and Parent News and Events – August 30th – September 3rd
Thank you for your patience as we got our first full week of school started with very few issues. We enjoyed seeing our students back, especially our newest Pirates in 6th grade!
If your child is a car rider in the morning or afternoon please make sure the person arriving knows the proper location for drop off and pick up. Car riders in the afternoon are not dismissed until around 3:10. Please help keep the main entrance and bus entrances free for traffic flow by not arriving until 3:10 or later. By waiting until 3:15 you will definitely have less wait and traffic.
NEW MASK REQUIREMENT
Please prepare your child to wear a mask to school beginning on Monday, August 30th. On Thursday, August 26th our Board of Education held an emergency meeting due to the excessive Covid quarantine numbers. Our Board voted to begin requiring mask in all classroom settings beginning Monday. Please see more information posted on the Rutherford County Schools and the Chase Middle Websites. I have also included information in this week’s student and parent news below.
BUS AND CAR RIDER REMINDERS:
- Car Rider Drop off and Pick Up:
6th grade will be dropped off and picked up in the bus lot off Morrow Motor Rd.
7th and 8th grade students will be drop off and picked up in the front of the school (main entrance.) Parents with students in more than one grade level can pick up their students in the higher grade level location.
- Bus routes – parents just a reminder that bus pick up and drop off times usually change earlier or later each day for the first several weeks. Please have your child ready and at their bus stop 5-10 minutes early until these times adjust. If your address has changed since last school year you will need to come by school to complete a new bus form. Please note students must follow federal guidelines and wear a face mask covering their nose and mouth while riding buses at all times. (See bus info section below for more information)
- Student Schedules – If your child did not get their official schedule during orientation or meet your teacher last week then have them stop by the main office when they arrive to school tomorrow

Masks and Covid Re-opening Guidelines
Our Board of Education recently met on Thursday, August 26 for an emergency meeting to discuss Covid quarantine numbers. In this meeting, our Board of Education voted to make mask mandatory. Beginning August 30, 2021 mask will be REQUIRED for students, staff, and visitors. Beginning Monday, staff will review specific areas in which mask are required with students and mask breaks will be provided in the classroom setting.
Bus Riders – please note mask are stil required on all regular and activity busses for all individuals at all times regardless of vaccination status (Federal transportation requirement). If you child does not have a mask one will be provided with the expectation for them to keep up with it for both AM/PM route.

When you have filled out the order form that you will receive from the school, please give it to your student to return to the school on picture day.
Please include payment with your order form.
For your convenience, you may prepay for your students’ pictures by going to www.carolinaphoto.net
Navigate to our website.
Click Fall Prepay.
Select your school name on the drop-down tab to start placing your order online.
The online prepay option will be available until the end of business on the scheduled picture day.
