7th Grade Parent Reminder - Tdap and meningococcal conjugate vaccine reminder

7th grade parents,
This message is to inform you of immunization requirements that impact
rising 7th grade students. Students entering 7th grade are required to have one dose
of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccine and one dose of meningococcal
conjugate vaccine. An up-to-date immunization record indicating that your student
has received these required immunizations is due by the first day of attendance for
the upcoming 2021-22 school year. North Carolina immunization law requires that
students who do not provide proof of vaccination by the 30th calendar day of the
school year be excluded from school until proof is provided.

Please contact your health care provider or local health department to make arrangements for your
student to receive these vaccines. The Rutherford County Health department
accepts patients for immunizations on an appointment or walk-in basis Monday -
Friday from 8:30AM until 4:30PM. For additional information about these
vaccines, the diseases they protect against, and other recommended vaccines your
teen may need, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website or
Immunize.NC.gov.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT THE COVID-19 VACCINE. THIS IS THE REGULAR ANNUAL REQUIREMENT FOR 7TH GRADE STUDENTS

Contact the school if you have any questions.
Thanks!
