Teacher and Educator Appreciation Week – this week May 4th -8th

Please join me in thanking the wonderful job our teachers do each day to support and educate our students.  Please visit the Rutherford County Schools Facebook page to find the link and ideas how you and your child can communicate your appreciation to their teachers. https://www.facebook.com/RCSNC/photos/a.385528074873931/3140470449379666/?type=3&theater

Let’s celebrate our teachers by wearing red on Wednesday, May 6, and sharing a personal photo on social media with the hashtag #REDforED.

Student Remote Learning Updates and New Assignments

Students now should have completed assignments for days 11 through 16.

On Monday, May 4th  at  8am, Days 27-36 of our Remote Learning Activities will be available for download through Canvas for students to begin the next round of assignments.  We will also be open at school Monday until 6pm for any parents who need to drop off or pick up any items.  Meal pick up will be at regular time Monday – Friday from 10:00am – 1:00pm

Please make arrangements on Monday to get to an area with Wi-Fi to have students upload completed assignments and download the new assignments in their Canvas account.  Remember that all RCS parking lots are Wi-Fi Zones. These areas are active 24/7. Please be patient with this process, these are large files and sometimes take time to download to your device.

Students do not need WiFi to complete assignments.  They only need WiFi to download and submit assignments back to their teacher.  If you are having issues with this process please call the technical support number or the school any day and we will be glad to assist.

Student Grading Information and Reminders

This past Friday, Dr. Sutton send out a call to parents regarding the recent State Board of Education information regarding student grading and promotion.  Our district will be receiving further guidance later this week.  We will share this information out to those students and parents as soon as possible.  In the meantime, our students need to be prepared for the academic challenges as we go into next school year.  Staying involved in learning through June will best prepare your child to not be behind and reduce their stress when we get to return to school this fall.  Teachers and support staff will continue to provide lessons and support through June 11th.  We are available to help support you and your child as they complete these lessons.  Please do not hesitate getting in touch with the school or your child’s teacher to help.
